The things kids say - Part Two

I don't know where this came from, but here's a quick conversation I had with Ellie this evening:

Ellie: "Mommy, don't ever adopt me."

Mommy: "What?"

Ellie: "Don't ever adopt me!"

Mommy: "What do you mean? Do you mean don't ever put you up for adoption?"

Ellie: "Yes, that."

Mommy: "Why in the world would you ever think that, Ellie?"

Ellie: "I don't know, but don't ever do it."

Mommy: "Ellie, Mommy loves you so, so much...you and Jacob are my world and I would never in a million years ever even think of doing something crazy like that."

Ellie: "Good, we are on the same page."

We discussed this in greater detail after that, but goodness gracious....the things kids say.
